Larger Parties and Societies
If you are part of a golfing society or works/pub golf section, why not let Home of Golf Tours take care of the arrangements. There are plenty of courses, some well known some not so, that are ideal for larger parties. There is also plenty of scope for excellent hotel deals ideally suited for societies and the like. So, if your society golf trip demands value for money alongside excellent courses contact us through the bespoke tours page and see what we can do for you.
Hidden Gems
With over 500 courses to choose from in a country of renowned ruggedness and beauty you can understand there are quite a few courses that are "off the beaten track". They range from 9 hole tracks in the corner of rural villages to 9 out and 9 back courses that have been there for as long as the fishing harbors they over look. These courses offer fantastic golf at great prices and the fact that most of the courses rely on visitors for the bulk of their income you are assured of a warm welcome if you decide to seek them out. When planning your tour ask us about hidden gems in the region you are visiting and we can build them into your itinerary.
Open Competitions
Early April to late September is "open season", where golf clubs have a range of competitions that are open to visitors. Again clubs see this as a vital form of income and most are very well attended not least because the winners are presented with some nice cash prizes. The formats are wide and varied including mixed events, pairs (greensomes and better balls), seniors, ladies, juniors, and gents stroke plays, even three and four man texas scramble teams. Most gents stroke play competitions take place at the weekends to maximise entry potential. Open competitions offer great value for money as the entry fee is usually a fraction of the cost of a normal green fee. Wherever your golf vacation is located there will be an open competition near by that will give you the opportunity to mix with like-minded locals and maybe win some hard cash and make new friends in the process. Mention open competitions when you make an enquiry if you would like more details.
